In the year 1965, training first began with the Radio Popular American Schools (ERPA), which consisted of short wave radio programs. In these programs, agricultural and cattle topics were treated in a didactic way. These transmissions were given both in Cañete and in the NorYauyos.
Years later, the radio training was replaced with technical classes, which were conducted both in classrooms and in the field. This led to the birth of the Rural Institute of Intensive Formation (IRFA), which was shortly re-titled the Rural Institute Valle Grande. This institute implemented departments of extension and training for both agriculturalists and ranchers. It intensified the work in the saw, installed a Laboratory of Analysis of Soils, Waters and Plants, and started to operate the Program of Support to the Technical Assistance, the Integral Programs of Production and the Agrarian School.
In the recent years, Valle Grande has started diverse activities like the Medical Program, the Program of Good Agricultural Practices and the research and development of new cultivated fields.
