The Saw Program searches to improve the living conditions of the families of Nor Yauyos with the conciliation and the effective participation of all its agents; with special emphasis on the aspects of sustainability (harmony with the environment and strengthening of the cultural identity); vision, equity and self-esteem.
That is why the team of Valle Grande has contributed giving training and technical assistance, human formation and generation of income.
The Saw Program develops its activities in the north zone of Yauyos's province (Nor-Yauyos), department of Lima, Peru.
The zone is characterized by a very rural geography, a low population density and an economy of production for the self-consumption by the sporadic sale of some surpluses. On June 3, 2001 the zone was declared " Landscape Reserve Nor-Yauyos - Cochas" (supreme decree N º 033-2001-AG), being the first natural reserve of this category in the country.
